Professor and Executive Associate Dean
Dawn Jourdan’s research regarding the legal aspects of land use, affordable housing, historic preservation and aesthetics regulation at the federal, state, and local level, has been published in numerous academic journals and law reviews, including the Journal of Real Estate Research, International Journal of Housing Markets and Analysis, and the Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Francis Quek performs research in human-computer interaction with a focus in aware and embodied interaction, (including remote affective touch interaction, physically-based social tagging of information, assistive technologies for the blind, embodied systems for K-12 learning and creativity, embodied crowd simulation, multimodal discourse analysis, technology ecologies to support learning and knowing, and radical design methodologies), computer vision (human behavior analysis), and medical imaging.

Shannon Van Zandt's scholarship is at the intersection of affordable housing with disaster impacts, resilience, and recovery, with particular interest in how residential land use patterns exacerbate or mitigate exposure to natural hazards, specifically flooding.
Vanegas focuses on applying creativity, innovation, design and entrepreneurship in multidisciplinary environments, implementing built environment sustainability, and advancing asset delivery and management in architecture, engineering and construction through integrated strategies, tools and methods.
