Biography
For more than 40 years, B. Don Russell has conducted research in electric power system automation, control, protection and real-time diagnostics with special emphasis on electric energy delivery. His primary area of application is in continuous health monitoring and failure diagnostics in electric distribution systems. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and is past president of the international Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Power and Energy Society. He is a fellow of six professional societies including the National Society of Professional Engineers, the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, and the National Academy of Inventors. Russell holds 15 U.S. patents and is a recipient of the Halperin Transmission and Distribution Award of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
