He has established a fully equipped and independent cell biology lab, and he has developed techniques to isolate and characterize adult Mesenchymal Stem Cells from a variety of species (humans, dogs, pigs and rabbits). His lab is defining the molecular mechanisms of human and canine MSC invasion in three-dimensional collagen matrices, as well as the role of the extracellular matrix in the differentiation of MSCs.
