Biography
Heather Lench directs Texas A&M’s Emotion Science Lab, a cohort of scholars in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences who investigate how emotions shape how people live, think and make decisions. Lench is an internationally recognized expert in the emotions field, and she is the senior associate vice president for Faculty Affairs at Texas A&M University.
A professor and former department head, Lench can discuss how people’s unconscious emotions and intuitions impact their choices and decision-making. She has published articles on how emotions ranging from anger to boredom can prove useful, and regularly discusses how individuals can develop emotional toolkits to build the lives they want.
Lench’s scholarship has been featured in the New York Times, BBC, NPR Science Friday, among numerous media outlets.
