Biography
Dr. James R. Brown holds the Jeanne & John R. Blocker Chair in Business Administration and serves as Professor and Department Head of the Adam C. Sinn '00 Department of Finance in the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Brown’s research program focuses on the financing of innovation, the institutional determinants of economic performance, and the real effects of climate policy. His recent work explores how country-level policy reforms impact corporate R&D spending, how firms manage unanticipated cash flow shocks, how climate policy influences firm investment decisions, and how financial market development affects household credit management and long-run economic growth. His research is published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Management Science.
