Biography
Dr. Jason Moats is an expert in emergency management, training and operations, and technology acceptance in public safety and health. He is the Director of the USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness and a Professor of Practice in the Health Policy and Management program. He previously served as the director of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s (TEEX) Testing and Innovation Center. During his time with TEEX, Moats worked on multiple projects including the development of an immersive learning platform for emergency responders, an augmented reality platform for search and rescue operations, and robotics. He served in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman, as well as a firefighter/EMT for multiple state departments. Moats has been decorated for valor on two occasions for his time serving as a firefighter/EMT, and has received multiple awards, including the Texas A&M Regents Fellow Award.
