Biography
Kathy Wall is an expert on first responder personnel needs, protective gear and protocols used in response to pandemics and acts of terrorism. Wall is a training coordinator for the TEEX/ESTI EMS/Public Health Programs. Her primary courses are the medical management of CBRNE events and medical countermeasures, point of dispensing (POD) planning and response courses. She has been a paramedic with the State of Texas for over 23 years. Prior to joining TEEX in December of 2004, Wall worked as a shift supervisor and in-charge paramedic for a hospital based EMS service that provided service to a rural area that spanned 802 square miles. She spent 10 years responding to life-threatening and sometimes minor incidents with long response times and double that for transport. Wall had ample opportunity to treat patients and hone her skills in the back of an ambulance during that time. Wall also spent many years teaching both basic and advanced EMS classes at Blinn College in Bryan, as well as with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service before signing on full time with the WMD/EMS program. She has delivered FEMA/DHS Cooperative Agreement Courses to first responders, first receivers, state and National Guard organizations, emergency management and volunteer agencies throughout the continental US, Hawaii, Alaska and all US Territories. Wall has extensive knowledge utilizing human patient simulators with programming and operation of the simulator being one of her specialties.
