Biography

Sachs’ research focuses on control mechanisms important in regulating gene expression. He is particularly interested in the control of protein synthesis, the process by which mRNA is translated to produce proteins. He can speak to the mechanisms involved in controlling the synthesis of proteins encoded by coronavirus mRNAs and the mechanisms by which coronaviruses impact the synthesis of proteins from the mRNAs produced by the cells they have infected.
