Col. James T. Matlock III was recently honored with the United States Air Force Legion of Merit Award.

The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets Leadership Excellence Program awarded 131 cadets with the Academic Certificate in Leadership Studies.

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., Ags are given the option of jumping into a pedicab and getting a ride to their car or nearby home.

Solis, a doctoral student in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development, is a 30-year lawman and 40-year military veteran who was recently sworn in as new police chief.

Last fall, as Hurricane Ike approached the Gulf coast, more than 250 critical-care patients were evacuated to Reed Arena. Texas A&M student and staff volunteers were a key element of the support system that helped the shelter provide for the evacuees.

African-Americans in sports have made tremendous strides in the past several decades and their influence in the athletic arena today is stronger than ever.
